Description

The Workshop will be held at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Golden, CO and will cover CIGS, CdTe, and other inorganic thin-film PV technologies. The goals of the Workshop are to bring the thin-film PV community together to share recent progress, to give input to DOE on funding priorities, and to engage in discussions on key challenges and opportunities for inorganic thin-film PV.
Registration deadline is August 16. If you are a foreign national please register by August 12.

We encourage every research group to present a poster at the Workshop, emphasizing capability over the current projects, in order to encourage exchange of ideas and collaborative thinking among participants. Please prepare one slide and a 3-min pitch to advertise your group and your poster.

1:00pm – 2:30 pm

Breakout Session: Input to DOE Funding in Thin-Film PV

What should be the focus of thin-film PV research funded by DOE?

What are the critical challenges? What problems will industry solve on its own and what government should be funding?

What emphasis should be placed on characterization vs. other research directions in thin-film PV?

How can DOE facilitate the most productive collaborations?

Breakout Reports and General Discussion

Moderator: Jim Sites, Colorado State University

3:20 pm – 3:30 pm

Closing Remarks

Inna Kozinsky, DOE SunShot

3:30 pm – 5:00 pm

Networking Session

The Workshop will take place on NREL campus. The closest hotel to NREL is Denver Marriott West, which is about 10 min walk to NREL and about 40 min from Denver airport. If you choose to rent a car, a cheaper lodging option is La Quinta Inn Denver Golden a bit further from NREL. If you choose not to rent a car, uber from the airport is about 1/3 of the regular taxi fare. Travel and lodging are the responsibility of individual attendees.

We are looking forward to seeing you at the Workshop!
